What Causes Low Testosterone Levels in Men?
As men age, their bodies start to gradually produce less testosterone. Typically, this starts after age 30 and drops by approximately 1% per year for the rest of a man’s life.
There are many potential cause of low testosterone, but some of the most common causes include:
- Delay in puberty
- Injury or infection of the testes
- Alcohol abuse
- Severe obesity or extreme weight loss
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Uncontrolled type 2 diabetes
- Congenital birth defect
- Certain conditions, such as cirrhosis of the liver,
- chronic renal (kidney) failure,
- severe primary hypothyroidism, and HIV/AIDS
Although premature ejaculation is very common, it is still is a very unpleasant for everyone involved. If you are lasting less than a few minutes and are also experiencing emotional distress from your symptoms you may be suffering from PE. The good news is that it is treatable in most cases.
In most cases, premature ejaculation is treatable with a multidisciplinary response. The treatment for PE is not instant and requires a 12-month commitment to treatment in order to achieve lasting results. The gold standard of lasting treatment may include oral treatment, regular pharmacological reviews, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes and regular adjustments.
